TraitMatch Community Guidelines
Version 1.4 — Effective 24 September 2026
TraitMatch is for adults who want personality-first dating and respectful connection. These Guidelines set expectations on and off the app when you interact with people you meet here. Breaking them can mean a warning, temporary limits, or a permanent ban. Safety Center: https://traitmatch.pages.dev/safety.
A. Be an adult (18+)
You must be 18+. Do not lie about your age. Do not post images of unaccompanied minors. If a family photo includes a child, you must also appear in it. Report any profile that sexualises a child, suggests harm to a minor, or shows an unaccompanied minor.
B. Zero tolerance: CSAE / CSAM
Child sexual abuse and exploitation (including grooming, sextortion, and trafficking of a child for sex) and child sexual abuse material (any visual depiction of a minor in sexually explicit conduct, including CGI) are banned. We remove content/accounts and may notify law enforcement. Standards: https://traitmatch.pages.dev/child-safety. Contact: childsafety@traitmatch.app.
C. Consent and public vs private
Comfort levels differ. Public profiles, bios, and Ponds must stay free of nudity, explicit sexual media, and graphic sexual descriptions. In private match chats, keep consent front and centre — stop when asked, respect blocks, and never pressure someone.
D. Respect and no hate
No harassment, stalking, threats, bullying, intimidation, doxing, or unwelcome sexual content. No hate based on race, ethnicity, religion, disability, gender, age, national origin, sexual orientation, gender identity, body type, or health status. If someone is not your type, pass or unmatch — do not report them merely for existing.
E. Violence and self-harm
No gore, violent threats, weapons glorification, or content that promotes suicide or self-harm. Where we believe someone may be at risk, we may share crisis resources and take safety action.
F. Be real
Photos and profiles should primarily depict you. No catfishing, fake accounts, or pretending to be someone else. One person, one account — no shared logins and no extra accounts to dodge bans or game matching.
G. No scams, spam, or sales pitch
Zero tolerance for romance scams, phishing, or asking for money, gifts, crypto, or investment “tips”. Do not post payment handles to solicit funds. Do not use TraitMatch mainly to advertise, recruit, fundraise, or run political campaigns. Commercial sexual services and trafficking are banned.
H. Privacy of others
Do not publish government IDs, passwords, financial details, or someone’s private contact info. Do not repost another person’s photos or private messages without permission. Speaking with friends about someone you met is fine; blasting their identity publicly is not.
I. Lawful use and integrity
No illegal activity, drugs dealing, counterfeit goods, or misuse of reporting tools. No unofficial bots, scrapers, or “unlocker” apps. Do not upload content you do not have rights to use (see https://traitmatch.pages.dev/copyright).
J. Ponds and public spaces
Interest rooms follow the same rules. Moderators and staff may remove posts or restrict access.
K. Stay active
If you do not log in for a long period (for example about 24 months), we may delete the account as inactive after notice where required.
Reporting
• In-app: Report / Block on profiles and messages, or Settings → Report a problem. Reports are treated as confidential to the extent practicable.
• Emergencies: contact local law enforcement first, then support@traitmatch.app when safe.
Enforcement and appeals
We take Guidelines seriously. Mild issues may get a nudge; repeated or severe harm can mean immediate ban (and no entitlement to refunds except where store/consumer law requires). Off-Service harm involving people you met here can still lead to account action. To appeal, email support@traitmatch.app with context. We aim to acknowledge within 72 hours and decide within 14 days.
These Guidelines work with our Terms, Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy, and Child Safety Standards.
